Jose’ delCristo Garrido: Chief Instructor and Study Group Leader Jose Garrido started his Japanese Martial Arts training in 1964. The first martial art that he studied was Nihon Goshin Aikido under Richard A. Bowe. In 1973, Mr. Garrido received his Black Belt from Richard Bowe. Mr. Bowe also made him an Instructor and Personal Representative in Nihon Goshin Aikido. Mr. Jose’ Garrido has received several Presidential Sports Awards for Martial Arts. In 1982 Mr. Jose Garrido received his Black Belt in Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu (Kodokai) under Tatsuo Shimpo sensei. He continued his diverse JMA training, and in 1985 he received Master Instructor (Shihan) status in Yoshitsune Hakko-ryu Jujutsu under Michael DePasquale Sr., Headmaster of Yoshitsune Hakko-ryu Jujutsu. Since 1997, Mr. Jose Garrido has been following the training he received in the mainline tradition of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu, under Katsuyuki Kondo. The only living Menkyo-Kaiden and the Headmaster of the art……….Tokyo, Japan. Our purpose for training: Is to make strong martial artists that can carry on the Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu mainline tradition under Kondo sensei. And at the same time are fully prepared to defend themselves and their families against the un-provoked violence that is ever present today, in our American streets. |
